Samui Snake Farm
Surrounded by lush green jungle in the south-west corner of Koh Samui is the Samui Snake Farm, a very popular and fascinating family attraction. Twice a day visitor can watch and enjoy the only Snake Show on Koh Samui.
For many years, this business has entertained ten thousands of people and is still going strong and stronger. Samui Snake Farm also took part in two Guinness Book of World Records: "The Longest Stay with Scorpions", and "The Longest Stay with Centipedes". Here at the Snake Farm of Koh Samui you can meet the world record holders, the Scorpion Queen and the Centipedes King, and watch their courageous stunts with their creepy little friends.
There are more than 170 types of snakes in Thailand, but only 50 species are venomous. Snake charmers at the Samui Snake Farm grip the largest venomous snake, the King Cobra, with their bare hands, presenting it to the audience for a spine-tingling close look. Our advise: "You can look, but don't touch".
The giant python, a resident of Koh Samui's jungle, is an animal of outstanding beauty. A close encounter at the Snake Farm is safe and an exciting experience you cannot afford to miss.
The Samui Snake Farm is great fun for the whole family and a must-see / must-do during your stay in Thailand.

Giant Pythons
Pythons are non-venomous constricting snakes that live in Southeast Asia, Australia and Africa. Pythons are native to the jungles of Koh Samui.
Pythons are among the longest species of snake in the world. They often reach a length of 4.5 to 6 meters, even 10 meters (35 feet) in some instances.
Pythons reside and hunt in the underbrush of the dense tropical jungle and are also excellent climbers and swimmers. They kill their prey by strangling it to death. Pythons feed on birds, mammals and can swallow a whole pig, digesting it over several days.
Potentially an adult python could attack and kill a human being, but these reports are extremely rare.
-
King Cobras
The King Cobra is the world's largest venomous snake with lengths reaching six meters. It is a native of South-east Asia and inhabitates the jungles of Koh Samui. The King Cobra is a cunning, expert hunter which feeds on small mammals and reptiles, including other snakes.
-
Crocodile
Crocodiles are native to tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa and America. Crocodiles live in swamps and slow moving rivers and feed on fish and mammals that approach the water. Crocodiles are known to attack humans.
Typical adult length for most species is 2 to 3.5 meters and crocodiles are known to exceed the age of 100 years.
